C.A.L.M.
Commands, Attitude, Leadership, and Manners Program

Welcome to the CALM course, developed specifically for our rescue dogs!

The CALM course (basic) covers more than thirty key points that will help make your new dog a happier, healthier, and yes - a more calm companion! The goal of this course isn’t to have every single dog graduate before being adopted; we want our dogs to find homes as soon as possible so that we can rescue that many more! The goal of this course is to start these dogs on the right path, and guide you on how to help them finish their training. CALM owners learn how to train their newly adopted Pup Squad dogs - for free - right next to a professional dog trainer. Now, if you don’t have the desire to learn how to train your dog, check out our dogs who have already graduated!! (Coming Soon!) If you are the perfect home for one of our CALM dogs, he or she will make a remarkable addition to your family.

Adopt Rocky

Rocky

Fun, funny, exuberant and energetic; Rocky has personality in spades. Rocky's momma is a small, black terrier. Obviously, Rockys daddy had spots. Everybody who meets Rocky is completed charmed by his ready smile and sloppy puppy kisses. Rocky has completed basic obedience, but he has a puppys zest for life. He would make an ideal running companion, a fantastic agility dog or a fearless Frisbee partner.

Adopt Griffin

Griffin

Griffin is living happily with a professional dog trainer, and quickly getting over his past. He was extremely fearful of men, but is taking treats from them and learning that not all men are scary. Griffin is good with children and women, although he may take a few minutes to make sure you're not going to hurt him before he decides he loves you. He is housebroken, crate trained, up to date on shots, and neutered. Griffin knows Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Touch, Watch Me, Leave It, and walks well on a leash. He lives with two cats that he adores, and other dogs that he also gets along well with.

Adopt Tessie

Tessie

Tessie is a one-year-old pointer/terrier mix (it's a guess...). She was found wandering the streets where a good Samaritan picked her up and took her a shelter. Fortunately, for her one of Pup Squad's photographer volunteers got wind of her plight and got Tessie to Pup Squad. She's been in her new foster home for over a month now and is doing very well. Tessie gets along well with other dogs and loves people. She's got puppy energy, but she is not hyper at all. She loves to play tug with her foster sisters or just hang out chewing on a bone. Tessie is one smart pup and picked up her house manners very quickly.

Adopt Lula

Lula

Lula and her littermates were rescued on Black Friday-the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2009, one of the coldest days of the season. It's been awhile since sweet Lula and her brothers and sisters were first rescued! She is now crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night. She also loves all her foster mom's other dogs and even try to play nicely with her kitties. :)
